Yes, we’re back, everyone! My Love is recovering very well, Thank the Lord. She told me that she felt well enough to get back on the road (Thanks to everyone for your prayers who knew, by the way, and we desire your continued ones.), so we visited Bordentown, New Jersey.
I had seen Bordentown on signs on highways and on maps, but we had never visited the downtown. It has a very nice downtown/“Main Street” section.
We had a great lunch at Marcello’s. The music was very “boomster”: disco-style music by groups like the S.O.S. Band and Cheryl Lynn. I asked our host, who was very friendly, who in turn introduced me to the manager. He told me they are from Brooklyn, and his girlfriend selects the playlist, and he takes the credit for it! ;o)
We started with eggplant rollatini, and finished with a gourmet brick oven pizza: the “Shroom”: wild mushrooms, gruyere, truffle honey and arugula. Both were delicious!
Oh, and there was quite a wait for the appetizer (but not the pizza). Turns out, they delivered it to the wrong table, who accepted it, so they had to make us another one! The server profusely apologized, and to our surprise, without us even mentioning it, comped us on our check! I wrote on the check, “Excellent service!”, which I don’t think I’ve ever done. A place well worth the visit! :o)
