I remember as a kid that my cousins got me excited about going to Uncle Morris’s and Aunt Marian’s. “They live in Bristol, and we’re going to have fun there!”
For us living in the city (Philadelphia), this was exciting, and started my first trips to suburbia, at least from what I can remember. Turns out that they lived in Levittown, I think; certainly not the Bristol we experienced last week: a friendly downtown in Bucks County with Boomster and/or GenXster possibilities.
Bristol was first settled in 1681, and is the third-oldest borough in Pennsylvania, after Chester and Germantown, so it has a lot of history. It was named after Bristol, England and is situated on the Delaware River, across from Burlington, New Jersey.
We parked on a street just off of Mill Street, one of the main streets with shops and restaurants (Radcliffe and Market Streets are two of the others) a little after twelve noon, so we were hungry and stopped at Itri, a wood-fired pizza bar, to get something to eat. It did not disappoint.
My Love and I shared the “Shroom” wood-fired specialty pizza and “Brussels”, shaved Brussels sprouts with bacon in a balsamic glaze, along with a couple of iced teas.

And a shout-out to Alex and Brooke, our bartender (who made our iced teas) and server, respectively, for a great experience! :o)

More next week on our adventures and another cool stop in this quaint town!
WOW BRUCE, NOW YOU MAKE ME WANT TO GO TO BRISTOL! 😄
AND "THE BRISTOL STOMP" DANCE/SONG REALLY PUT BRISTOL, ON THE MAP, BACK IN THE DAY!
I think that my husband and I need to do a Boomster tour and go to each of these places you are highlighting. So fun!
