We had a “family reunion” of sorts: we spent a weekend visiting our older son (29 years old) with My Love and our younger son (25 years old) in Providence, Rhode Island. Yes, Providence is often named hipster capital of New England. We have been to Providence quite a few times before, but not in a while.
We stayed at an Airbnb in Pawtucket, a small town close to Providence, and had a great stay there. Our son that lives up there is a graduate of Johnson & Wales, majored in culinary arts there, and has worked in several restaurants there, so he is well-versed in its culinary scene. In fact, there was hardly a restaurant where he didn’t know someone!
Friday evening, we dined at Oberlin Restaurant in downtown Providence. The food was wonderful! Our server and others who worked there knew our son, and they took really good care of us. :-)
We shared some of the dishes, like mussels with sweet potato chips that I ordered, and our “chef-son” ordered this huge fish deal, which he ate most of (he allowed us to taste it)!
And this was just our first day (evening) there…Stay tuned! ;-)
